From Christine Carpenter, NBCC Board Member representing Beyond Pink TEAM, and Lori Seawel, NBCC Alternate Board Member representing Beyond Pink TEAM The first session of the new 119th United States Congress begins January 20, 2025. Beyond Pink TEAM advocates are already working with the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) to build relationships with Iowa’s Congressional delegation by congratulating our representatives on their re-election. An email was sent to Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks [R-01], Ashley Hinson [R-02], Zach Nunn [R-03], and Randy Feenstra [R-04] telling them we look forward to working with them in the next Congress to find alignment on key issues related to healthcare access and breast cancer research funding. In the coming weeks, we will continue our efforts for passage of The Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act. We will also work tirelessly for continued funding of breast cancer research through the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. As the transition to a new congress unfolds, Beyond Pink TEAM and NBCC nationwide grassroots will continue our commitment to ensure access to quality healthcare, one of our top public policy priorities and work for preservation of the Affordable Care Act, the Medicaid Breast and Cervical Treatment Act and other key protections. We look forward to working with Iowa’s U.S. Congressional Delegation as we continue our efforts together to end breast cancer. We need every Beyond Pink TEAM member to join us in our advocacy efforts to end breast cancer.
